DESIGN THINKING FOR IMPACT INVESTMENT

Understand why design thinking has become the go-to approach for innovation across industries, and learn how to apply it to the world of impact investment.

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This workshop offers an introduction to the concept of design thinking for impact investment. The intention is to gain applicable knowledge through a dedicated tool-kit that will inspire and support ideas that have positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.

Understand why design thinking has become the go-to approach for innovation across industries, and learn how to apply it to the world of impact investment.

You might be a designer, researcher, fund manager or an individual investor. Perhaps you are working in an investment firm, family office, an NGO or for a private foundation. If you are interested in a hands-on learning experience which will allow you to experiment with new tools and collaborative team work, this course will provide valuable insight and a new approach to your work.

This hands-on course will guide you through the entire process, from understanding a stakeholder group to discovering a need to creating a solution to address it – in the form of a service, product and/or platform.

During the week, you will do research, create insights, and prototype and test solutions. Along the way you’ll learn practical tools, including research methods, synthesis approaches, user journey mapping, rapid ideation, and experience prototyping techniques.

Lectures are spread throughout the course and are immediately followed by direct hands-on research and prototyping, and individual and group coaching along the way. We will work according to a rapid design thinking process to create actionable, experience prototypes.
