Week-long, hands-on courses on the challenges and opportunities shaping our future, led by international experts and grounded in a life-centred approach.
CIID Pop-Up Schools bring transformative learning to people around the globe. Each week-long course combines hands-on learning, research in real contexts, prototyping and testing, alongside professionals from different cultures, sectors and disciplines. Courses are led by experts from CIID's extraordinary global community.
Every course is shaped by CIID's life-centred approach, which builds on human-centred design to consider all living systems and looks beyond sustainability towards regenerative solutions. Along the way, you'll work with emerging technologies, including AI, and develop ideas that create real, positive impact, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

THE 2027 PROGRAMME
In 2027, our Pop-Up Schools explore the questions shaping how we live, work and care for the world around us. In Costa Rica, the themes are regeneration, climate, living systems, and longevity and biodiversity. In Bergamo, they are technology, people, health and places.
AI is part of our approach across all courses, but never for its own sake. Depending on the subject, it is a material to design with, a force reshaping behaviour and society, or a tool for understanding complex systems. Throughout, we look beyond optimisation: at where AI creates meaningful value, how it can expand human agency rather than erode it, and how it earns trust.
