DoomSword

advised by

During this week, we had the opportunity to extensively experiment with Claude AI, and we engaged in the creation of many different projects, including websites, games, digital tools, and more.

When asked to optimise and present one of these works, it felt natural for me to start working on “DoomSword”: a 2D first-person game inspired by classic titles such as Doom and Quake, designed to work in conjunction with an iPhone controller.

By holding the iPhone like a sword, it is possible to move it and perform a series of gestures in the air, which are translated into the game as input for sword attacks. Additionally, the iPhone allows the player to switch weapons in the game, changing from a sword to a shield.

The setting is a Christian apocalypse taking place in Ancient Rome an environment I had wanted to build around a video game for years. Thanks to these powerful tools, I can now say that I have finally done it.

The entire game was developed using artificial intelligence: the code was generated by Claude, the images and icons were created with ChatGPT, and the music was produced using SUNO.
The only exception is the menu artwork, which was created by my brother several years ago.

In its final version, the game was fully functional and featured four different types of enemies, a boss fight, and collectible elements such as power-ups. Moreover, it proved to be fairly challenging to complete exactly what I wanted.
