Hi, I’m Anke (or Nika as most people refer to me as). I have a Master's degree in Communication Design from HTWG Konstanz - University of Applied Sciences. This master’s helped to deepen my conceptual and research-driven process, allowing me to better understand the complexity that surrounds us so I can create better, more robust solutions for the future.

My work is driven by the question of purpose in design. Rather than only shaping surfaces, I aim to make things more accessible, meaningful, and socially responsible. Ethical and social perspectives strongly guide my work, even though navigating real-world constraints can be challenging. I enjoy analytical thinking and developing concept-driven solutions tailored to people’s actual needs. Working across disciplines excites me, and I value the insights that emerge where design meets other fields. My Master’s thesis explored prisoner resocialization — an unexpected but deeply human context for design.

Born in the North, raised in the East, and living in the South of Germany for many years, I feel most comfortable in the in-between — between perspectives, environments, and ideas. I’m excited to continue this journey at CIID and to learn alongside people from diverse backgrounds.
