Fabián Chaves is a Graphic Designer from Costa Rica whose entry into design grew right alongside his immense passion for environmental protection and activism. For him, visual communication goes far beyond aesthetics, it is a vital, thoughtful tool to connect communities, share meaningful narratives, and help build a gentler, more sustainable world. Driven by this purpose, he spent over six years as a volunteer designer with the One Sea Foundation, leading visual identity and campaign strategies that helped bring the organization’s ocean conservation message all the way to the global stage at the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, France.
At the core of his work is a deeply collaborative spirit. He thrives in interdisciplinary environments, seamlessly bridging the gap where science and technology meet art and design. He views complex ideas from other fields not as barriers, but as rich opportunities to translate technical knowledge into accessible, human-centered experiences.
Curious by nature, he brings an approach to his creative process, constantly experimenting with diverse materials, mediums, and tools. His versatile experience spans typography, branding, motion graphics, wayfinding, photography, immersive spatial design and accesibility. By blending this broad toolkit with emerging technologies and scientific insight, he crafts transformative, meaningful interactive systems designed to inspire and engage.
