SuperMacio

SuperMacio is a multiplayer game inspired by Mario that explores how multiple devices can become part of the same game world. The project allows characters from one MacBook to jump through a portal and appear on another MacBook, creating a shared game space across physical screens.

Each MacBook acts as a connected part of the game world, with a portal that allows characters to move between devices. Players can also join the game using their phones as controllers and choose which MacBook they want to spawn on. Once inside the game, they can move around and jump through portals to explore the other connected screens. The project explores how g physical devices can work together as a single interactive environment rather than functioning as separate screens.

The main learning from the project was understanding how to use Claude Code to build connections between multiple devices and reliably synchronise player movement. This involved exploring how different devices could communicate with each other and how the game state could be maintained as characters moved between MacBooks.
