Connecting curious minds — all around the world

Online — Aug 25th, 1pm CEST

CIID Connect is a monthly online event series bringing people together around ideas and conversations that shape the future of design for positive impact. Each session features designers, researchers, educators, technologists, artists and change-makers sharing their work, experiences and provocations.

This month we are opening the floor to our graduating students, who will share their Final Project work:

Haley Rowland (USA) — Touchstone

Touchstone is an intelligent necklace designed to support women through perimenopause. When experiencing symptoms such as brain fog, insomnia or mood changes, users can speak to the pendant and receive either a grounding practice or a strategy shared by another woman, creating a growing repository of lived experience and support.

Cassandra Quesada (Costa Rica) — Ancora: Bridging Life and Liturgy

Ancora is a companion for personal Catholic prayer, designed to make spiritual reflection more intentional and accessible. Users can share their feelings aloud, receive relevant scripture and then use guided breathing and a personalised prayer to transition from reflection into a deeper, more personal dialogue with God.

Pedro Josué Matarrita Brenes (Costa Rica) — NextSteps

NextSteps is a board game that helps people who feel stuck explore what might come next in their personal or professional lives. Drawing on psychology, coaching and career counselling, players reflect on what they need and want, then work with friends or family to develop creative plans for moving forward.

Rooted in curiosity, experimentation and life-long learning, CIID Connect is a space for dialogue and exchange. These events are open to all — students, professionals, alumni, educators and anyone curious to join an ongoing global conversation shaped by diverse voices and perspectives.

The talks take place in the first hour, followed by 30 minutes for anyone who would like to stay longer to ask questions and have informal conversations.

Register for this and future CIID Connects via Eventbrite to join us online!
We look forward to seeing you there.
