CIID Connect is a monthly online event series bringing people together around ideas and conversations that shape the future of design for positive impact. Each session features designers, researchers, educators, technologists, artists and change-makers sharing their work, experiences and provocations.
Our speakers share their perspectives and projects that have impacted people and non-humans. Coming up this month:
George Cave invents and prototypes the future of product interaction, combining deep expertise in technology and engineering with a relentless focus on human experience. His work blends play, emotion, and a sense of magic with rigorous technical execution, spanning software, hardware, robots, drones, APIs and agents.
He currently leads robotics and design at a startup deploying autonomous drones and robots into the UK's National Heath Service. An expert in experience prototyping and interactive technology, he has taught at Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, Umeå Institute of Design, TU Delft, and University of Salzburg, and has spoken at events including SXSW, TEDx, and Ars Electronica.
Rooted in curiosity, experimentation and life-long learning, CIID Connect is a space for dialogue and exchange. These events are open to all - students, professionals, alumni, educators and anyone curious to join an ongoing global conversation shaped by diverse voices and perspectives.
The talks take place in the first hour, followed by 30 minutes for anyone who would like to stay longer to ask questions and have informal conversations.
