Connecting curious minds - all around the world
Online - 17th March - 2pm CET
CIID Connect is a monthly online event series bringing people together around ideas and conversations that shape the future of design for positive impact. Each session features designers, researchers, educators, technologists, artists and change-makers sharing their work, experiences and provocations.
This month, we welcome three people whose not-so-linear career paths have taken them to unexpected places:
Diana Pang is a multidisciplinary designer, researcher, and strategist working at the intersection of cities, care, culture, environment, and systems. With over 14 years of experience spanning marketing, sales, research, analytics, and strategy, she distills complexity into actionable insights. As a Senior Foresight Analyst at Arup in Hong Kong, Diana translates complexity into equitable and regenerative transitions through strategic foresight and design futures - blending data, design, and foresight to support commercial clients, governments, and non-profits in building a better future.
Fei Kwok comes from a background in law, with experience across legal practice, research, and service design. She consults on research-led service design and product work, collaborating with teams ranging from startups to global companies to deliver products and experiences that delight users and drive business success. Having worked in New York and Hong Kong, Fei brings a unique perspective where she combines legal thinking with a systems lens, critical eye, and strategic mindset.
Balder Onarheim would like to issue a warning: “Don't do hardware!”. A hardware entrepreneur who is stuck in a never ending 'medtech valley of death', Balder has twenty years experience in medical equipment design and a PhD on 'creativity under constraints'. He started PlatoScience neurostimulation because he thought it would be a nice time with his mates. This talk is reflecting on the journey with PlatoScience and some of the highs and lows from the last 10 years of building a global brain stimulation company.
Rooted in curiosity, experimentation and life-long learning, CIID Connect is a space for dialogue and exchange. These events are open to all - students, professionals, alumni, educators and anyone curious to join an ongoing global conversation shaped by diverse voices and perspectives.
The talks take place in the first hour, followed by 30 minutes for anyone who would like to stay longer to ask questions and have informal conversations.
Register for this and future CIID Connects via Eventbrite to join us online!
We look forward to seeing you there.
