The Silent Compromise: Objects for a shared home - IDP Exhibition

25

September 2026

Please join us for our latest exhibition that explores how we live and interact with one another in common spaces through physical objects and tangible user interfaces.

Anyone who has ever shared a living space with loved ones, friends, or housemates knows that living together requires unwritten rules to keep life from spiralling into chaos. We all have different definitions of what a mess is, how we define privacy, or where household items belong. But how can we respect one another's rules and boundaries?

For this edition of Tangible User Interfaces, part of the Interaction Design Programme, the students’ brief asked them to design and build physical objects to help people living in a common space navigate unspoken rules and to prompt constructive discussion.

The exhibition is free and open to all.

We hope you can join us for some inspiration and aperitivo!

Please RSVP here on our EventBrite.
