HONOURS

Desktop Dash

What does your desktop look like? Neat and tidy? Complete chaos? Somewhere in between? The team of Yisi and Anke happened to have exactly these two extremes: one very tidy desktop and one very, chaotic one. This contrast inspired them to create a collaborative game.

Each player joins the game session individually from their own computer and is assigned a specific folder type. Different files then start falling from the "ceiling" of the screen, and players have to catch the files that belong to their folder. To make things even more challenging, players can also change the background, adding an extra layer of chaos to the game.

A counter keeps track of the score, and whoever has collected the most files by the end of the game wins.

The project was created entirely without AI, with all of the code written by the team themselves. Along the way, they learned a great deal about the basic structure of code, how to build a multiplayer game, and, perhaps most importantly, how to collaborate effectively on a shared codebase.
