Paige

Addressing the overwhelming soundscapes for ICU nurses through a personal device

Paige is a wearable/portable device designed to support hospital care staff. Think of a pager, merged with the modularity of a Lego. Each Paige device is assigned to a specific bed and given to the nurse responsible for it, creating a tangible representation of each patient.

When any patient requires attention, nurses get real-time alerts directly from the monitoring systems, with no time wasted on locating the source of an emergency. Paige allows nurses to focus on what’s important by replacing the overwhelming environment of constant beeping with precise, contextual information, allowing them to respond more effectively and with greater focus in a high-pressure setting.

The aim is to envision better systems for staff in hospitals by creating a calmer, more responsive care environment.
