HONOURS

Simon Says Sit

Simon Says Sit is an immersive reimagining of a childhood classic game: Simon. In the team’s revised game, four players must collectively remember a sequence indicated by colored light and tonal sound, and then repeat the sequence back without error. Each round the game progresses, the sequence increases in length, increasing the difficulty of remembering.

The game setup consists of four seats, each corresponding to a different color (and tone). To play back the sequence, four players must sit according to the order of the color/tone, enabling a more embodied game play. Game-show sound effects add to the immersive fun of the game.

The project utilized a projector hung from the ceiling, and created mesh-wire buttons underneath each seat cushion, as well as a footprint to start the game, which connected to a Makey Makey, allowing input to the computer program. The game play was programmed using Scratch.

The team learned about circuitry and connecting the physical with the digital.
