Collectible cards come in all shapes and colours. They are collected, swapped and kept – and if you have enough of them, you can even play with them. Collectible cards have survived to this day and preserved this very special form of collecting.
With morphix, we make this experience just that little bit more personal.
Inspired by a collaborative drawing game in which different body parts from various people are added in turn, we developed a digital version of this principle. An image is captured via a webcam, then divided into four sections and saved as a single section. A countdown signals when it’s time to strike the next pose. In this way, a composite image is created from various snapshots – a unique creature. A randomised process is then used to generate a name and various characteristics for the card, giving each card its own unique meaning.
This transforms the classic act of collecting into a shared experience, where each card is not only collected but also created by the user and shared with others.
