Seeds of Inspiration is an immersive installation designed to connect CIID Bergamo with the broader design community travelling between Bergamo and Milan. The project addresses a critical gap: while thousands attend Milan Design Week annually, few realise that CIID—a global hub for interaction design and international collaboration—sits just one hour away in Bergamo.
The installation creates an oasis-like environment where visitors can sit, relax, and discover interaction design through carefully curated snippets presented in a meditative, non-intrusive way. Rather than overwhelming visitors with information, the experience offers a peaceful moment of respite and inspiration. At the end, visitors can scan a code to access a podcast series of CIID's Tuesday Open Lectures, creating a pathway for continued engagement.
The team's research revealed that design-minded travellers regularly pass through Bergamo en route to Milan, yet CIID remains a "black box" to both the local community and this transient design audience. This insight led the team to focus on planting seeds rather than forcing immediate action—they wanted to make people aware of what CIID can bring to their professional lives, trusting that awareness to grow organically over time.
