
Maryam Safaifard is an interaction designer and a biomimicry practitioner with a background in communication. She develops projects inspired by nature. She believes that from the natural world we can build more innovative, adaptive, and more-than-human-centred systems.
A project born from this approach is MIRLO which is a bird-inspired voice assistant that helps pilots and air traffic controllers communicate clearly. This idea won an innovation award from the International Civil Aviation Organization and opened the door to work in Airbus UpNext.Her passions are the ocean, the animals and the different ecosystems of the planet.
For 10 years she practiced ballet which helped her be aware of the body and movement. This allows her acquire a sensibility towards design and embodiment practices. She enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams to bring new ideas to life. Her purpose is to bring technology and nature together, for a more balanced and positive impact on the world.
